PhD in
Periodontics
Defending health through advanced periodontal research.
About the Program
Academic Depth in Tissue Biology and Regeneration. The PhD program in Periodontics at Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University (CHSSU) aims to cultivate “Doctors of Philosophy (PhD)” capable of deciphering the mechanisms of periodontal diseases, developing advanced surgical techniques, and scientifically analyzing the link between systemic health and oral biology. Our program offers profound theoretical and clinical depth across a spectrum ranging from the micro-anatomy of periodontal tissues to advanced implantology. By merging scientific inquiry with clinical mastery, we prepare the next generation of scholars in this critical field of dentistry.
Educational Opportunities
Advanced Surgical Techniques and Molecular Research. Our doctoral education encompasses technical courses such as Advanced Periodontal Surgery, Soft Tissue Management in Dental Implantology, and Oral Microbiology, alongside an intensive research process. CHSSU’s modern clinics, equipped with laser technologies and microsurgical tools, allow students to specialize in “Minimally Invasive Surgery.” During the thesis stage, candidates have the opportunity to conduct high-impact research on topics like tissue engineering, bone regeneration, and the systemic impacts of periodontal disease.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the CHSSU PhD in Periodontics program are recognized as the masters of biological and surgical expertise in the dental world under the title of “Doctor.” Our alumni can build distinguished academic careers as faculty members, leading research and teaching from prestigious academic chairs. In the clinical sector, they are qualified to serve as clinical directors or periodontal surgery specialists in comprehensive oral health centers. Furthermore, they can take on high-impact roles as R&D consultants for biotechnology firms and dental material manufacturers, managing projects that define the future of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering.
