About the Program
Academic Mastery in Growth and Development. The PhD program in Pedodontics at Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University (CHSSU) aims to cultivate “Doctors of Philosophy (PhD)” capable of scientifically analyzing oral and dental health issues from infancy through adolescence and developing original treatment protocols. Our program extends beyond traditional treatment, offering profound academic depth in preventive dentistry, pediatric dental trauma management, and special care dentistry for children with disabilities. By blending scientific inquiry with a compassionate approach, we prepare leading researchers who will advance the pediatric dental literature.
Educational Opportunities
Advanced Clinical Approaches and Research Focus. Our doctoral education encompasses technical courses such as Sedation and General Anesthesia in Children, Advanced Preventive Applications, and Dental Material Science, alongside an intensive research process. Training conducted within CHSSU’s modern, child-friendly clinics and specialized intervention rooms allows students to master “Behavior Management” and “Infant Oral Health.” During the thesis stage, candidates have the opportunity to conduct high-impact research on topics like regenerative endodontic treatments, next-generation restorative materials for primary teeth, and oral manifestations of systemic diseases in children.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the CHSSU PhD in Pedodontics program command the highest level of academic and professional prestige in the field of child oral health under the title of “Doctor.” Our alumni can build distinguished academic careers as faculty members, leading research and playing a pivotal role in training the next generation of pedodontists. In the clinical sector, they are qualified to serve as Heads of Pedodontics Departments or clinical directors in pediatric hospitals and comprehensive dental centers. Furthermore, they can take on strategic roles as scientific consultants and R&D specialists for global dental firms developing pediatric products, managing projects that define the future of pediatric dental technology.
