Professional Management of Active Living. The Department of Recreation at Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University (CHSSU) aims to cultivate experts capable of enhancing life quality, promoting active living awareness, and managing leisure-time activities with a professional mindset. We adopt an educational philosophy that places the educational, social, and psychological dimensions of sports at the center, rather than focusing solely on performance. Blending the natural beauty of Güzelyurt with our university’s extensive social facilities, our program connects creative, innovative, and socially conscious leaders with the requirements of modern sports culture.
Hands-on Experience and Dynamic Event Management. Education in our department consists of a multifaceted curriculum built on outdoor sports, event management, wellness practices, and social responsibility projects. Our students develop the skills to design specialized recreation programs for diverse age groups and social structures, gaining hands-on experience by applying their theoretical knowledge through field activities both on and off campus. Our course structure, which fosters creativity and organizational talent, empowers students to plan, manage, and sustain both individual and mass-scale events, preparing them for the dynamic nature of the global recreation sector.
Diverse Career Horizons as a Recreation Leader. CHSSU Recreation graduates enjoy a wide array of career opportunities as “Recreation Specialists” and “Event Managers.” Our alumni can manage recreation departments in tourism facilities and resorts or serve as specialists within municipal sports and social service units. They can take on strategic roles as facility managers in public and private sports complexes, or as guides and organizers in outdoor sports centers. Furthermore, they can make a difference as “Employee Motivation and Wellness Specialists” in corporate human resources departments, nursing homes, and rehabilitation centers. Kickstart your professional journey at CHSSU. To apply for our undergraduate programs, international candidates are required to provide the following:
Application Form: A fully completed online application form.
Secondary School Certificate: A valid High School Diploma or equivalent certificates (e.g., O/A Level, WAEC, NECO, SAT, or national examination results).
Turkish Language Proficiency: For programs taught in Turkish, evidence of Turkish language competence (e.g., TÖMER) is required. Students without a valid certificate must take the CHSSU Turkish Proficiency Exam on campus following their arrival.
Identification: A scanned copy of a valid international passport or birth certificate.
For the 2026-2027 academic year, the annual fee for international students in the Recreation program is 3,000 USD. This total includes the registration fee and VAT.
