The Department of Child Development at Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University (CHSSU) is a scientific hub that examines children’s development—starting from the prenatal stage through infancy, early childhood, and school years—using a multi-dimensional approach. Our program boasts a modern academic structure aimed at cultivating qualified experts capable of supporting children’s cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth. By integrating education, health, and psychological sciences into a holistic perspective, we provide our students with a professional, child-and-family-centered vision while preparing them as ethically sensitive leaders with a strong sense of social responsibility.
Child development education at our university is a dynamic process where theoretical knowledge is harmonized with creativity and field experience. Students are equipped with a broad, interdisciplinary curriculum ranging from child psychology and health to drama, play development, family counseling, and special education. One of our department’s most distinctive features is the four-stage “Field Practice” program, which allows students to translate theory into practice in preschools, hospitals, special education centers, and social service units. Furthermore, our creativity-driven courses and project-based education model empower students to design unique educational programs for children with diverse developmental characteristics.
Graduates of the CHSSU Child Development program earn the professional title of “Child Development Specialist,” granting them a wide range of employment opportunities in both the public and private sectors. Our alumni can work as experts in kindergartens and nurseries, special education and rehabilitation centers, and group homes. Within the healthcare sector, they can manage developmental tracking in pediatric clinics, provide guidance at family counseling centers, or lead projects on children’s rights within NGOs. Additionally, they can serve as content consultants in media, children’s literature, and the toy industry, while those pursuing academic goals can continue their postgraduate studies to lead scientific research in the field.

Application Form: A fully completed online application form.
Secondary School Certificate: A valid High School Diploma or equivalent certificates (e.g., O/A Level, WAEC, NECO, SAT, or national examination results).
Turkish Language Proficiency: For programs taught in Turkish, evidence of Turkish language competence (e.g., TÖMER) is required. Students without a valid certificate must take the CHSSU Turkish Proficiency Exam on campus following their arrival.
Identification: A scanned copy of a valid international passport or birth certificate.
For the 2026-2027 academic year, the annual fee for international students in the Child Development Bachelor’s Degree program is 3.400 USD. This total includes the registration fee and VAT.
